Our racks explained: entry-level, intermediate and commercial range

When it comes to designing your home gym or commercial space, choosing the right equipment is essential for achieving your fitness goals. We offer a range of squat racks that cater to various requirements, dimensions and budget. In this post, we compare some of our popular rigs to help you find the perfect fit for your training regime.

Phase 4 Cable Equipped Multi-Functional Squat Rack & Multi-Functional Trainer

Phase 4 Cable Equipped Multi-Functional Squat Rack

  • Robust construction. Crafted from 75 x 75 x 3mm steel, the main frame of the Phase 4 Rack is designed to withstand rigorous use, making it the preferred choice for commercial settings.
  • Superior cable system. Two 2:1 adjustable pulleys and two 1:1 fixed pulleys offer best-in-class cable training. The pulleys operate from two 100kg weight stacks to accommodate a massive range of lifts.
  • Enhanced features. Designed for convenience, the Phase 4 Rack includes an adjustable and cannonball-style pull-up bar. It also comes with a seat attachment for lat pulldowns or leg extensions, a foot plate for cable rows and accessory storage on the back of the rack to keep things tidy.
  • Versatile accessories. The Phase 4 Rack comes with a number of accessories to vary how you train. It’s also compatible with our Phase 4 attachment line in case you’re looking for even more customisation.
  • In-person viewing. Experience the Phase 4 Rack first-hand at our Liverpool or Milton Keynes showroom. Simply schedule a visit with our team at info@musclesquad.com and they’ll gladly assist you.

Multi-Functional Trainer

  • Durable design. Constructed from 50 x 50 x 2mm stainless steel, the Multi-Functional Trainer boasts stability and versatility during intense workouts.
  • More than just a squat rack. Equipped with two 1:1 adjustable pulleys at 72kg each, plus a smith bar with a weight capacity of 250kg to combine three key gym machines in one.
  • Additional attachments. Like the Phase 4 rack, the Multi-Functional Trainer comes with a range of accessories. Two that you'll find on this rack and not the Phase 4 system are the landmine attachment and fixed pull-up bar.
  • In-person viewing. Experience the Multi-Functional Trainer in person at our Preston or Milton Keynes locations. Contact our team at info@musclesquad.com to schedule a visit!

Overall, while the Phase 4 Rack boasts a sturdier frame, has double the cable pulleys, heavier weight stacks and versatile pull-up bar options, the Multi-Functional Trainer offers a smith bar, additional attachments and is a cheaper alternative. Both will give you a solid workout, so it all comes down to your preferences, space and budget!

Phase 2 Quarter Squat Rack & Phase 2 Freestanding Folding Power Rack

Phase 2 Quarter Squat Rack

  • Space-saving design. The quarter shape of the rack is specifically designed to fit snugly into the corner of any room.
  • Budget-friendly. The most economical cable pulley we stock, the Quarter Rack packs a significant punch for its price tag.
  • Versatile training. With its smart design, this rack is suitable for training any part of your body in a low-profile footprint.
  • Additional attachments. Included in the Quarter Rack is a cannonball grip pull-up bar to increase grip strength, dip handles to target those triceps and monolifts for compound movements.
  • In-person viewing. Visit our Preston location to see the Phase 2 Quarter Rack in person. Contact our team at info@musclesquad.com to schedule a visit and they’ll be happy to assist you.

Phase 2 Freestanding Folding Power Rack

  • Space optimisation. The Freestanding Folding Rack comes into its own by folding away when not in use.
  • Enhanced safety. With a pair of safety bars on the inside of the rack, you can squat or bench comfortably knowing you have a bail-out option.
  • Additional attachments. With resistance band pegs, barbell clips, ankle straps and more, you won’t be left wanting for accessories.
  • On-site viewing. Experience the Freestanding Folding Rack at or Preston studio. Contact our team at info@musclesquad.com to arrange a visit and they’ll book you in for a convenient time.

Both of these racks are available in plate or pin-loaded variants. The pin-loaded version allows you to make swift changes to your weight stack with the quick-select pin, while the plate-loaded version lets you use the same plates for both barbell and cable exercises, saving you money.

Overall, both racks offer incredible functionality and quality with unique space-saving capabilities. The Freestanding Folding Rack stands out with its folding option and safety bars for heavy lifts, while the Quarter Rack brings a sleek design and affordability to small spaces.

Dual Action Pulley Cable Machine & Phase 3 Dual Cable Stack

Dual Action Pulley Cable Machine

  • Space-optimised. As the lowest-profile rack in our range, the Dual Action Pulley fits snugly into the corner of your gym.
  • Serious weight stack. Gloating a 90kg weight stack on 2:1 ratio, this cable machine provides a high max weight while still allowing for gradual progression.
  • Versatile attachments. Equipped with 6 different attachments, the Dual Action Pulley has you covered for a variety of exercises. Once you’re finished training, simply store them along the side of the machine.
  • Experience in person. Visit our Milton Keynes location to experience the functionality and space-saving design of the Dual Action Pulley. Contact our team at info@musclesquad.com to schedule a visit and they’ll be happy to assist.

Phase 3 Dual Cable Stack

  • Sturdy construction. The Dual Cable Stack features a secure squat rack design, enabling you to perform barbell exercises and equip attachments to the rack.
  • Modular design. The rack’s modular design opens the door to adding attachments from the Phase 3 line and even integrating another cable stack or storage unit onto the side of the rack.
  • Variable weight stacks. Available in 80kg, 105kg and 130kg weight options on a 2:1 ratio, this rack accommodates a wide range of strength levels and training preferences.
  • Experience in person. Experience the functionality of the Phase 3 modular system at our Milton Keynes studio. Contact our team at info@musclesquad.com to arrange a visit and they’ll schedule a convenient time for you.

Whatever your choice, both racks are the ideal workout companion. Whether you prioritise a compact unit with a selection of neatly-stored accessories with the Dual Action Pulley or barbell functionality with the Dual Cable Stack, both options deliver premium quality to your home gym setup.
